As the Assistant Commissioner of Income Tax (ACIT) for Circle 1 in Nashik, I was entrusted with the management of a revenue jurisdiction valued at INR 5.96 billion. My primary responsibilities included overseeing assessment, rectification, reporting, grievance redressal, RTI matters, revenue collection, demand reduction, and recovery for the assessees in my circle.
In addition to my regular duties, I also took on various additional assignments. These included serving as a Departmental Representative, representing the department’s cases at the Honorable Income Tax Appellate Tribunal in Pune, participating as a member of several committees responsible for the conduct of office work (such as the Local Purchase Committee and the Internal Complaints Committee), and serving as a regular member of Search and Seizure Teams.

I was selected through UPSC CSE-2016 and inducted into the 71st Batch of Indian Revenue Service, the premier Direct Tax Administration Cadre of the Government of India. Having ranked in the top 0.001% of a nationwide pool of about a million applicants in the Civil Service Examination, I underwent intense training at the National Academy of Direct Taxes in Nagpur.
During the training, I received comprehensive instruction on different aspects of Taxation, Direct Tax Laws, Practical Application of Direct Tax Laws, Advance Accountancy, International Taxation, and more. The academic training was also geared towards fostering leadership qualities in me as an officer trainee.
