BMI should be less than 30 as on the day of the medical examination, which is usually conducted the day after the interview.
Those who exceed this limit will be given a temporarily unfit status following which they can reduce their BMI within the next 6 months from the date of uploading of their medical report on the DoPT website and clear the medical exam.
You won’t get into the Civil services without clearing the medical exam.
