What is your review of Blinkist?

I bought it.

I was sceptical of the idea at first. Book summaries in place of books was an idea that did not sound great to me. A lot depended on the quality of the summaries that were provided. Given that some of the books were of very high quality, it would be very difficult to summarise them effectively.

I opted for the free plan at first, which meant I had a one day trial access to all the features. I tried out the summaries of books that I had already read, at first. I read 7 habits of highly effective people, Sapiens and Dale Carnegies book on making friends and influencing people. I found that the book summaries were good and effectively summarised the ideas in the book. More than that, it also made for 4–5 minute reads.

I, then tried out some books of which I had no clue. Though I was lost on some ideas, it was still good enough to expose me to the ideas mentioned. I also realised that I would never be at a loss at dinner table conversations.

I bought the premium plan on the same day and have been a happy user ever since. So for me, the subscription has been totally worth it.
