In my first interview, I got Chhathar Singh Board. I went inside and he took up my photo in his fingers, did not even lift his head up from my DAF and shot
“Is this you?”
I was taken aback. I hadn’t even bothered taking a decent picture for my application. I simply took a digital picture I had taken that year in my camera and uploaded it.
A 100 things ran through my mind. Was he angry that I’m unkempt in the picture? Has my face changed a lot from the picture? Did the picture being too casual anger him? ( It indeed was a casual pic.) Was he offended that I gave a hippy picture?
I composed myself and said Yes. We moved on from it. Later I came to realise that this was something he asked most candidates who went to his board. It’s better not to sweat the tiny things.
