Hi there,
Let me tell you a little secret. Note taking requires a little bit of understanding about the subject. That is why most experts on reading recommend skimming through the text to get a “feel” of what you are going to learn.
If you are completely new to the subject, say for example, the text you have given, it might seem that the entire information is important. However, if you have learned the topic, then you will know that it simply explains one single phenomenon:- Wind circulation around the globe and how it happens. Always remember:- notes are meant to help you revise something you have learnt, they are not meant as replacement of the text. That is why most people will have difficulty trying to follow another person’s notes.
That said, here is how I’d make notes out of the above paragraph.
——————————————————————————————————————————————
Insolation sets in motion global air circulation + precipitation.
2 principles
- Air flows from High Pressure area to Low Pressure Area (See how I know this extra info from reading more on the topic)
- Hot Air Rises, Cold air sinks ( Again from more reading)
And for all that load of information that follows, a simple diagram

Hope this helped.
