Yes, you most certainly can.
I had 10 backpapers by the time I reached my 4th semester. I had the lowest attendance in my class and could be seen sleeping in my room most of the time or outside the classroom hanging out with friends. I wouldn’t recommend it to anyone.
Finally, I got my act together and cleared all backpapers, got one of the best placements out of my college and later cleared the civil service exam, twice. The experience of failure I had in those days carried me through the set backs I had while writing the Civil Service Exam. It helped me remain composed, in a sense.
You are an engineer. You must have studied 4 modules for the exam overnight. What difficulty can civil service exam pose to you? Just plan well like an engineer and write the exam.
Once you have seen the bottom of the pit, the only way to go is upwards. And the confidence that you gain once you trudge out of there, will be something that will carry you through the worst adversities that you may face.
